Kindred Spirits

As many of you might know from some of my previous reels, I am currently in the process of building a house in Dallas, Texas, around a huge existing tree.

So I definitely got a kick out of this house when we stumbled upon it in Kenya… although this tree/structure combo appears to be of the much less intentional variety than what I am hoping to achieve!! 😝😂

Rambling with Ryan: Update from Moroxico

I would also like to draw your attention to the elephants in the background of the photo.

I will touch on them more in another post, but for weeks I had been watching enormous herds of elephants attempt to eat dry, dead-looking, scorched, yellow-brown plants and scrubby grass out on the savanna; but then here these two elephants are, with grass up to their eyeballs, living their best lives and gobbling up the most luscious (and presumably delicious?) green foliage you’ve ever seen! 😂

I know that elephants are extremely communicative with their herds, so I can only imagine that these two cheeky pachyderms made a conscious decision (a pact even?) to keep this little green oasis a secret and enjoy it all for themselves! 🤣

Seriously. Even those birds look like they’re in on it.
