Red-tailed Monkey: Ready For His Close-Up

How does this overly expressive monkey not already have a cartoon version of himself, if not his own show? The only reason I can think of is that his facial fur is oddly reminiscent of a middle-aged man who spends his weekends doing civil war re-enactments, and Disney found that hard to work into a character appropriate for children… but otherwise, he seems ready to go, if you ask me.

The character could get in predicaments where he:

Hides in a tree.

Sings in a tree.

Yells in a tree.

Looks adorable in a tree.

Mugs for the camera in a tree.

Gets stuck up a tree.

Granted, it would be a very tree-heavy show, but then again, so was Avatar, and look how well that worked out.

Maybe his sidekick and pampered best friend could be a character who wears a fancy pashmina and complains about everything.

Maybe he even has a cigar or a cigarette he smokes?

Just an idea...
